Sedimentary structures on exposed sand bar and a Overview of Kunderpara char

The most common sedimentary structures is horizontal laminated sand which is also common in Padma river. In Jamuna, the biggest difference for sedimentary structures is many trough cross bedding due to high flow of water. Here some field observed photographs are given below.

Kunderpara char, kamarjani: It is old sand bar which was deposited 30 year before. Gradually, it lost its land due to flooding every year on a regular basis. As it situates in the confluence of Teesta and Brahmaputra River, so river erosion is considerably high than other sand bar. Last year,  a devastating flood occurred, as a result, it had lost a 13 Bigha Bazar in river. Many needy people were homeless and landless.

One of the pleasing moments was that when electricity line comes in July 2021. It was a really incredible memory for the villagers who earned their living below poverty line.
